Built Texas Strong. Opened Up to the View.
Texan Built designs and builds custom homes — and installs the oversized sliding glass doors and windows that make them unforgettable. Serving McKinney and the greater Dallas–Fort Worth area.
Two specialties.
One standard of craft.
Whether you're building from the slab up or opening a wall to the backyard, you get the same builder-level framing, finish and attention to detail.

A builder’s eye on every opening.
Big glass only looks effortless when the structure behind it is right. Because we build homes, we handle the headers, framing, flashing, trim and finish work that most door installers leave to someone else.
- Structural done rightProper headers and load paths for wide openings — no sagging, sticking or callbacks.
- Weather-tight installsSill pans, flashing and sealing built for Texas heat, wind and storms.
- Clean, finished resultsWe leave you with trim, paint-ready drywall and a swept-clean jobsite.

Engineer-minded. Texas-built.
Texan Built is led by owner Grant Johnson, a former mechanical engineer who has spent the last seven-plus years building custom homes in Texas. Before that, our team's experience includes commercial projects for municipalities and multi-family residences.
That background shows up in the details: careful planning, precise measurements and a build process you can actually follow. We work closely with every client from design through the final walk-through.
